“Education is not the amount of information that is put into your brain and there is a riot, which makes your whole life useless. We must have life-building, human-building, character-building, assimilation of ideas. “— Swami Vivekananda The eternal words given above define an autonomous body under the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan- Ministry of Human Resource Development of India. KVS is a vibrant and premier educational institution in the field of quality school education. The KVS Jammu region was established in 1984 and has current jurisdiction over 38 KVs located in Jammu and Kashmir, with a dedicated, well-equipped and committed team of effective management and teachers for the intellectual, moral and spiritual development of the students. Under its working in the same direction, a galaxy of multidisciplinary curricular activities are organized on a regular basis to bring out the best in students. ‘All round personality development’ is an important focus area to enable our students to march with the ever changing world of technology and globalization. We believe in inclusive education with principle “to inspire the weak, to address the average and challenge the gifted children”. We are proud to help our students develop into the next generation dutiful, sensitive and responsible citizens. Our students have achieved many milestones in the past and I sincerely hope that this quest for excellence and achievements will continue in the future as well.
Deputy Commissioner
Sh. Sunil Kumar Bunkar
Principal
I feel immensely privileged to be a part of the mammoth Kendriya Vidyalaya Anantnag. Family. Our school is proud of its great traditions and eminent alumni. We strive for excellence. Our teachers are well equipped to shoulder the honourous responsibility of moulding and shaping a child. In the present day scenario of all-pervading bottle-neck competition it is highly vital for an alma mater like ours to impart such a value oriented education which will prepare honest, responsible and dutiful citizens of our nation echoing the immortal lines of Tennyson’s Ulysses in unison, “To strive , to seek , to find and not to yield .” The KVS curriculum is oriented to bolster globally relevant education reinforcing both curricular and co-curricular activities with a motto to hone skills, inculcate values and holistic development of our pupils. Modern education is all about helping the learner to realize and explore their potentialities. The school environment evokes a team sprit among the students and teachers with a conviction to weave a firm moral fiber that acts as a nucleus around which all our school activities revolve .Our commitment is to provide a safe, positive and intellectual learning environment that will empower the students to become creative problem solvers, critical thinkers and inspired learners for life in the 21st century. Our Vidyalaya website is a humble endeavour to provide information about our Vidyalaya, kaleidoscopic glimpses of its diverse activities as well as the progress and stellar achievements of our students who have carved niche for themselves. I hope that the website will definitely offer you an insight into the overall functioning of the Vidyalaya . I am excited for the opportunity to work with you to provide a productive and safe learning environment that supports students’ success.
